Gulf Coast Territory Wrestling Legend Ken Lucas Dies at the Age of 73, Les Thatcher Comments

SLAM! Wrestling is reporting that Ken Lucas, most associated with the Gulf Coast wrestling territory, but also north from there into Tennessee and Alabama, died on Wednesday at the age of 73.

Lucas, who held the Gulf Coast Tag Team Championship in 1975 along with his partner Nick Kozak, wrestled from one end of the United States to the other, though almost exclusively in the southern states.

Wrestling legend Les Thatcher posted the following on his Facebook page in remembrance of Lucas:

“We travelled the roads together & socialized. He had one of the greatest sense of humor of anyone I ever knew & was one of the greatest workers I have ever had the pleasure of locking up with. Our business has lost an amazing human being.”
