Report by Mike Killam for Wrestlezone.com

-NXT kicks off with a recap of Tyler Breeze becoming #1 contender, his supposed "hand injury", and the ongoing rivalry with NXT Champion Adrian Neville.

NXT Tag Team Championship Tournament

First Round Match

BULL DEMPSEY & MOJO RAWLEY vs. THE VAUDEVILLIANS

The Vaudevillians come out with a classic old-timey entrance in black-and-white, with a bit more flair and showmanship than usual. They work over Mojo for several minutes with quick tags. Bull eventually tags in and starts clubbing away at Gotch, then backs him into his corner and the big guys take turns pounding on him. The Vaudevillians get the hot tag, do their signatures and put away Mojo with a Swanton Bomb combo in a relatively quick match.

Winners: The Vaudevillians

-After the match, Bull gets pissed off at his partner for losing, and attacks him from behind. He continues the beatdown for a few minutes, then leaves him laying.

-Backstage, Bayley gets a talking to from Sasha Banks, who basically insinuates that she's not ready to face Charlotte for the NXT Women's Championship. They run the John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar SummerSlam package and go into commercial.

KILLAM: Well I think most of us saw that coming. I like the Vaudevillians as a gimmick, and as long as they don't cut promos I can tolerate them individually. Neither is strong on the mic though, so while it's a fun gimmick in NXT, I doubt we'll see them called up any time soon. That's been my thought process since they debuted as a team, and while they're fun to watch in the ring, and obviously technically sound, I haven't seen anything to show they deserve the titles or that bump up to Raw. Side note - does anybody remember when Mojo was unbeatable? He's looked like a complete chump in the last few months.
