There is apparently now a “very good chance” that The Rock will work for WWE at Wrestlemania 31, but he will face pressure from movie studios not to participate.

The Rock sustained injuries in his two matches with John Cena, the second of which was severe enough that it postponed production of Hercules due to recovery from surgery. The Rock has been cast in several big name movies lately, including Baywatch, and Shazam!, so it wouldn’t make studios very happy if he wrestles and risks another potential injury.

PPV Announcement

It was already announced earlier this summer that WWE will be moving its Summerslam pay-per-view to the east coast in 2015, taking place in the New York / New Jersey area.

The “biggest party of the summer” had been held in Los Angeles’ Staples Center the past six years, and it’s expected that WWE will announce another pay-per-view in Los Angeles. The Staples Center is hosting a WWE live event on December 30th, and it is expected that is when WWE will announce which pay-per-view it will be.

Smackdown Theme

WWE will debut a new theme song for Smackdown on this week’s 15th anniversary edition of the show. Smackdown currently features “This Life” by CFO$ as the theme, which debuted in April.
