Regarding the booking of Randy Orton and John Cena on this week’s WWE RAW, the company was apparently very insistent that both Hell in a Cell matches be looked at as main event caliber fights. Orton referred to his match at the PPV as the “main event”, and they were careful not to portray that match as a consolation prize for the loser of John Cena vs. Dean Ambrose. It’s still unclear which Cell match will go on last next Sunday – Ambrose and Rollins will likely close the night to avoid any negative fan reaction – but they will both be promoted equally in the build to the show.
The match between Cena and Orton will also be something of a tie-breaker. This will be the ninth time both mega-stars will face off on WWE PPV in singles competition, and each has three wins and disqualification finish over the other.
