wwe 2k15WWE Superstar John Cena recently participated in an interview for the latest issue of Fighting Spirit magazine, and Cena addressed the inclusion of former WWE Superstar CM Punk in the WWE 2K15 video game.

2K had previously announced details on the 2K Showcase game mode, featuring two story modes featuring documentary style looks at the Triple H and Shawn Michaels rivalry from 2002-04, and the more recent feud between Punk and Cena from 2011-13. Cena was asked if he’s happy with the game mode even if Punk isn’t still with WWE, and he said the following –

John Cena on CM Punk in WWE 2K15:
“Whether he’s here or not, he’s certainly left a mark in WWE,” Cena said. “He’s got to be in the game, and it’s cool that that moment is not forgotten.”

Cena was also asked about who he would want his own virtual character to face in the WWE 2K15 game:

Cena on his WWE 2K15 choice of opponent:
“There are a lot of first time scenarios, such as with Sting. The fact that you can use current me or the old [Doctor of Thuganomics] is always good, and I like rivalry mode [vs CM Punk] because 2K listened to the WWE Universe as to which they wanted most. You can relive those rivalries and stories that went along with them.”

The latest issue of Fighting Spirit magazine is available now. WWE 2K15 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 28th in North America and October 31st in Europe, and on Playstation 4 and Xbox One on November 18th in North America, and on November 21st in Europe.
