Stephanie McMahon Comments on WWE’s Updated Domestic Abuse Policy, Denies Vince Rule About Total Divas & Divas Title

stephanie mcmahonStephanie McMahon was recently interviewed by Yahoo! Sports, and she spoke on a number of topics including WWE’s updated domestic abuse policy, and the reported rule Vince McMahon has in place which says a Total Divas cast member cannot hold the Divas Title.

Several weeks ago, during an appearance on Chris Jericho’s “Talk is Jericho” podcast, Total Diva cast member Cameron brought the rumor to light when she said:

“The whole thing we have been fighting is being on the show [means] not being able to have a chance at the title.”

Stephanie McMahon, however, had the following to say about the rule’s existence during the Yahoo! interview:

“Absolutely not. I honestly don’t even know how that rumor got started.”

She was then told that WWE talent addressed it, to which she responded, “There is no policy. I think it would be awesome to have one of the Total Divas as our champion. I think it would drive interest in the storyline. I would never say never.”

As we noted earlier today, WWE has updated its domestic abuse policy as other sports organizations have been cracking down on the issue, and Stephanie had the following to say regarding WWE’s policy:

“We have a zero tolerance policy for domestic abuse. Upon arrest for such misconduct, our Superstars are immediately suspended and should there be a conviction, that Superstar or Diva would be terminated.”
