Update on Kurt Angle’s Pro Wrestling Future w/ WWE & TNA, Mick Foley Predicts the “Rise of Sandow” One Year Ago Today

Mick Foley Predicts Rise of Sandow

WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley has reminded his Twitter followers of a very interesting prediction he made, one year ago to the day. It’s something he called “the dawning of the age of Damien Sandow”.

Last night’s episode of WWE RAW was the one year anniversary of Damien Sandow unsuccessfully cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase against then-WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena.

Kurt Angle/TNA Update

kurt angleAccording to PWInsider.com, the announcement that Dixie Carter has been teasing will end up being a new contract for Kurt Angle. While he did have discussions with WWE, they wanted Angle to sign a full-time deal, and at 45-years-old with multiple surgeries, his body just couldn’t hold up to the intense schedule. The negotiations with WWE are apparently over, and the former world champion will not be returning.

Instead, Angle will look to finish his in-ring wrestling career in TNA, as the company returns for more Impact Wrestling tapings in early January. He has also been in Hollywood recently, talking to people about expanding his work in film, likely as the next step of his professional career. Angle has been a part of several movies and TV series in the past few years, most notably in the Oscar-nominated 2011 film “Warrior”, and more recently the direct-to-TV cult classic sequel, “Sharknado 2: The Second One”.

KILLAM: Interestingly enough, his IMDB and Wiki pages also say Kurt was an uncredited extra in Michael Bay’s “Pain & Gain”, starring The Rock and Mark Wahlberg.
