Jim Ross Talks WWE Rushing Big Show & Mark Henry Feud, Authority Figures in Wrestling; Why Should Fans Dislike Rusev?

Jim Ross Calls Rusev a "Patriot"Jim Ross has posted a lengthy blog at JRsBarBQ.com reviewing last night’s episode of WWE RAW.

In particular, Ross was very interested in why Rusev – who won the United States Championship this week – should be perceived as a heel.

“It’s interesting as to why WWE apparently feels Rusev should be booed….apparently only because he’s Russian. The powerhouse rarely cheats, is a patriot to his native land, is a beast, isn’t a coward, and has not lost via pin or submission. What is there among those items that I am supposed to dislike? The nationalistic storylines can still work but the ‘foreigner’ still has to have heel tendencies and nuances. Rusev should not lose until WM31 at the earliest and if he makes it to Summer Slam ‘clean’ it would mean so much more when someone finally knocks him off.”

About the Mark Henry and Big Show feud, which began last week and turned into a singles match on RAW this week, Ross only said that it had been “drastically rushed”.

J.R. also talked about the role of the authority figure in wrestling, the return of Bray Wyatt and evolution of his character, and more in the latest blog. He will be talking to the great JJ Dillon on the next episode of The Ross Report, which airs tonight on PodcastOne.com
