Sami Zayn Reacts to Those Who Think His Career Stipulation is a Stupid Move, Talks NXT Title Match, Says the Bout Has Become Personal

Sami Zayn is this week’s guest for Michael Cole’s sit down interview. You can watch the interview below, and the following are some highlights:

Zayn calls tomorrow night the biggest match of his career.

Cole brings up how Zayn has been battling for over a decade to make it to NXT, and Cole wonders why Zayn told Adrian Neville he’s done if he doesn’t win tomorrow night.

Zayn responds by saying his goal is to become NXT Champion before he does anything else in his career, and it’s sink or swim time. Zayn says he has taken away his safety net by implementing the career stipulation.

Cole says people think his decision to quit if he loses is stupid, and Zayn says it’s easy to judge him, but people are not him. Zayn says following his heart is not a negative thing, and people don’t understand Zayn didn’t set the stipulation officially in his contract, he made the personal stipulation because he doesn’t want to leave NXT and the stipulation will motivate him to win the title.

Zayn says the NXT Title match tomorrow night has become a bit personal, and Zayn wants to prove a point to Neville. So it’s not just about winning the NXT Title, Zayn says Neville has become a bit cocky, and he forgets that Zayn can beat him and will beat him.

Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.

Nick attended New York University and graduated in 2001 with a degree in Drama.

Nick first entered the internet wrestling community back in 2004 when he became the co-host of The Voice of Wrestling Radio Show. From there, Nick made the transition from radio personality to editor when he began working with WrestleZone in 2008.

Nick is a member of two Off-Broadway theatre companies, Another Urban Riff, and the Drama Desk Award winning Godlight Theatre Company. Nick has appeared in over a dozen Off-Broadway plays since he moved to New York City, and has shot several short and feature length films. In 2010, he completed principle photography on a film titled "How to Score Your Life," which also features TNA Knockout ODB.

Inspiration in his life has come from many people including his family, Woody Allen, Steven Spielberg, Jack Nicholson, The Beatles, and of course, Lassie.
