The Very Latest on Rey Mysterio’s WWE Status and a Possible Indication The He is Being Granted His Release

Mysterio.JPGAs we noted moments ago, Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero both posted Tweets this week, which have once again lead to speculation regarding Mysterio’s current WWE status.

Prior to the Tweets being released, the latest update on Mysterio is that he was still under contract with WWE, and was waiting to be brought back to TV.

The Wrestling Observer reported back in December that Vince McMahon had instructed the WWE creative team to come up with something for Rey which would last from Survivor Series to WrestleMania 31, however that was evidently nixed, as it’s January and Mysterio has yet to return to WWE TV.

Back in October of last year, former WWE Spanish announcer Hugo Savinovich publicly stated Mysterio was finished with WWE and would be heading to AAA and/or possibly Lucha Underground, making it pretty clear where Mysterio wanted to go.

Mysterio had reportedly been asking for his release from WWE for quite sometime now, and the latest Tweets from both him and Chavo Guerrero might be an indication that WWE is finally ready to release him from his deal, which WWE opted to extend due to how much time Mysterio has missed recovering from injuries.
