As we have been reporting, Brock Lesnar retained the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a triple threat match at tonight’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Roman Reigns won the 30-man Royal Rumble match to earn a spot in the main event of WrestleMania 31, against whoever holds the world title.
While there is still one more PPV event prior to WrestleMania – WWE Fast Lane on February 22nd – it was announced at least five times at tonight’s show that “Roman Reigns will face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania”, and many more times it was stated that “Brock Lesnar will go on to WrestleMania to defend the world title.”
While this isn’t a confirmation that the title will or will not be on the line, it’s a strong indication that WWE currently has no plans to make Lesnar defend the belt prior to March 29th.
