Sasha Banks Talks Tonight’s Four Way Title Match, NXT Possibly Touring in 2015, Dusty Rhodes Helping Her in NXT & More

sasha banksBrian Fritz of SportingNews.com recently interviewed WWE NXT Diva Sasha Banks to hype tonight’s WWE NXT Takeover: Rival special, and the following are some interview highlights:

On signing her WWE developmental deal:

“I just remember getting off the phone and just crying my eyes out,” remembered Banks. “It was such a long journey and it was a journey I had been chasing since I was ten because I’ve always known this was my ultimate goal in life. And I knew when I had that tryout and I was chosen to go to camp at FCW (Florida Championship Wrestling) at the time that I wasn’t going to leave that tryout not signed. I gave it my heart, I gave it my everything. I knew when I left that tryout I had to be signed so when I got the call a month later my life changed and I’ve been so happy ever since.”

On tonight’s Fatal Four Way Title Match:

“It feels like a whole other brand onto itself and I know for the girls — and just speaking for myself — being at NXT has been such an amazing experience and I feel so accomplished here as wrestling as a woman and just showing fans that women can do it better than the men. I know that at ‘NXT TakeOver’ and the fatal four-way we’ll definitely have people saying ‘oh my God, those were not Divas, those were superstars right there’.

On Dusty Rhodes helping her in NXT:

“He said ‘baby Sasha, I want you to sassier, sassier (in her best Dusty impersonation).’ He always tells me to be sassier and just get meaner. So, I just go ‘OK, I hope I don’t hurt anyone’s feelings’ but you gotta do it if Dream says it.”

On NXT possibly being a touring brand in 2015:

“It is absolutely amazing to get out of Florida I have to say,” said Banks. “And I know all the boys and girls are extremely excited to see how big NXT has gotten. For me, I got to start at FCW and see it turn into NXT and I remember going to house shows and there were legit ten fans in the crowd. Now, every weekend where we have a show there are 300-plus people. And I know the Columbus show got sold out in 22 minutes and there’s 900 people coming. It’s so exciting to see how big it’s grown and how big it’s going to get because I know it’s just going to get bigger and better and I’m so excited to be a part of it.”
