WWE Financial Officer George Barrios Talks a Year of WWE Network, “Transforming” the Company & More (Video)

wwe networkGeorge Barrios, WWE’s Chief Strategy & Financial Officer, made an appearance on CNBC’s Closing Bell to talk about the one year birthday of the WWE Network. 

The interview is actually fairly interesting, as Barrios is both knowledgeable about the financial aspect of the product (obviously) but also a good spokesperson. 

“When we started this, we set a long arc of time. I don’t know if that’s three years, four years, or five years – we think we can get to three or four million subscribers. In our view, we’ve got about 100 million broadband homes, top 16 markets, and if we can 3-4% penetration we can transform the company.”

“Three or four million is transformational. Two million is a double or a triple. We’ll be more profitable than WWE has ever been.” 

Barrios did sidestep a question about whether or not the $9.99 price-point for the WWE Network could change in the future.
