Several Promotions Interested in Samoa Joe; Why ROH Booked Him For a Sold-Out Show, Update on Adam Cole’s Return from Injury

Samoa Joe’s Current Offers

Samoa JoeAs we reported this weekend, Samoa Joe was officially announced for several upcoming dates with Ring of Honor, including their WrestleMania week “Supercard of Honor” event. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is nothing officially on the books yet for the 13th Anniversary pay-per-view, but there’s still a chance they could bring him in.

Joe currently has offers on the table from AAA, Lucha Underground and New Japan Pro Wrestling. It’s possible New Japan would use him to help the struggling NOAH promotion, as they have either bought out the company, or have enough controlling interest to be propping them up right now.

Meltzer noted, and I agree with him, that it’s a strange decision to bring in Joe for a show that was already sold-out. Doesn’t make sense financially. I was told by one source that it was actually Dave’s report about ROH’s recent financial distress that caused some panic, and they’re trying to show there’s no worry about money for talent right now.

Adam Cole Return Date

Former Ring of Honor Champion Adam Cole, who has been out of action since December with a shoulder injury, is estimating a return in May.
