As noted, AAA star El Hijo Del Perro Aguayo (pictured at right), real name Pedro Aguayo Ramírez, died early this morning after an accident during a match in Tijuana, Mexico last night in which he teamed with Manik to face Extreme Tiger and Mysterio for the CRASH Lucha Libre independent promotion.
Several media outlets, including World Star Hip Hop and TMZ have picked up on the story, and as of now the cause of death appears to be a snapped vertebrae suffered when Ramirez’s head hit the ropes to setup a 619 from Rey Mysterio.
TMZ.com noted the following, and also posted post-match footage featuring Aguayo’s final moments:
El Hijo Del Perro Aguayo was taking on former WWE star Rey Mysterio Jr. when he was performing a stunt and apparently snapped his neck or spine.
Additionally, Rey Mysterio Tweeted the following regarding the tragedy:
Apenas se formaba una amistad de hermanos que empeso años atras y no deberiamos cuestionar los designios de Dios. pic.twitter.com/HzlWE16wLS

The Tweets translate to the following in English:
Just formed a friendship between brothers who opened years ago and we should not question the designs of God.
But in this occasion I wonder why and I do not understand it…I take you with me for the rest of my life, rest in peace HijoDelPerro.
