As we noted earlier, WWE did their best to turn down the crowd volume for the end segments of Monday Night Raw last night in San Jose, although some of the louder chants obviously came through.
During the Divas match in the third hour, the fans began a crass “you suck Cena” chant directed at Nikki Bella. This caught on, and they began one for each of the Divas involved in the match – “you suck Tyson” at Natalya, “you suck Bryan” at Brie Bella, etc. Surprisingly AJ Lee and Paige seemed to be the only ones spared, and were fairly well-received by the otherwise hostile crowd.
According to live reports, while the main event did come across as having a negative reaction on television, it was nothing compared to what was happening in the arena.
Roman Reigns received the most heat out of anyone on the entire show, to the point where Kane and Big Show were cheered every time they got in any offense on him. They seemed to like Ryback to a point, but the issue was WWE teased this big “mystery partner” for Randy Orton all night, knowing that putting Reigns in front of that crowd was a disaster waiting to happen (especially with Big Show AND Kane already involved), but they did it anyways.
During the main event the crowd began numerous NXT-related chants. Not only did they call for Sami Zayn, Hideo Itami and several others, but they began doing the characters’ various gimmicks, such as Enzo Amore’s “how you doin?” and chanting “Breeze is gorgeous”.
