New Matches Being Considered for WWE Extreme Rules; Plans for Dean Ambrose, Divas Title, Sheamus, Ziggler & More

extreme15_splashRight now, the only three matches confirmed for WWE Extreme Rules are Seth Rollins vs. Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, John Cena vs. Rusev for the United States Championship, and Daniel Bryan vs. Bad News Barrett for the Intercontinental Championship.

There will be a battle royal on next week’s episode of Monday Night Raw to determine the #1 contender to the Divas title. It’s expected that Naomi will win the match, as she has two pinfall victories over champion Nikki Bella since WrestleMania. Originally the plan was for AJ Lee to challenge for the title at Extreme Rules, but obviously her retirement changed plans, and Naomi vs. Nikki is the match penciled in.

Luke Harper vs. Dean Ambrose is another that should be announced in the coming weeks. Harper put Ambrose through a ladder at WrestleMania, and then through the announce table on last week’s Smackdown. He was then written off RAW with a storyline injury, but is expected back as early as next week to build for the PPV. Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler is also being talked about.

Some sort of variation between Roman Reigns, Ryback, Big Show and Kane is expected; either two singles matches or a tag team match. WWE has also been teasing Kane leaving The Authority.

Kalisto and Sin Cara, working together as the Lucha Dragons, have been making a great impression since their debut after WrestleMania. It may be too early to put them in a tag team title match, but they may get one just by process of elimination. The Prime Time Players have been teasing something with The New Day recently, and there doesn’t seem to be anyone else making waves.

WWE Extreme Rules is live from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, IL on April 26. We will of course keep you updated on any possible matches being added to the show.
