TNA Cancels Huge Tour of China Scheduled for Later This Month; Talent Reportedly Upset After Late Notice

tna knockoutTNA will not be touring China this month, as originally planned. There has been a lot of uncertainly surrounding this situation for quite some time, as there was talk of running a tour in the country months ago, but nothing ever materialized.

Then, just last month, reports started coming out that an 11-day tour through China and two additional dates outside of the country (most likely India) was definitely happening. Talent had been informed and there were even reports of a printed advertisement surfacing that featured Jeff Hardy, Gail Kim and MVP.

What’s odd is that while most assumed TNA China was a lock, the company never advertised it publicly. There were no dates announced, no official post on the Impact website, but up until just a few days ago there was talent being told to set aside those dates. Now, just two weeks before they were supposed to leave (on the 20th), the tour isn’t happening.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting this was yet another major blow to company morale, and the talent who had set aside two weeks to travel to China are now in a position where they’re looking for dates to work between the 20th and early June. Furthermore, there are some backstage that found out about the 6/28 Slammiversary pay-per-view from the internet far before they were told by the company.

This isn’t all of the talent, mind you. As was the case with the delayed paychecks, there are some content and some being taken care of – and those are the ones you hear about in interviews saying everything is fine, because it is for them – but that is very much not the case for everyone on the roster.
