HHH Talks Taking WWE Tough Enough to the Next Level, the Most Important Participant Quality, Y2J Talks His Role as Show Host, More

wwe tough enoughUSA Today recently did an interview with Triple H, Hulk Hogan and Chris Jericho to promote the new season of WWE Tough Enough kicking off tomorrow night on the USA Network. Below are some interview highlights:

Triple H on taking Tough Enough to the next level:

“Our athletes and performers make what we do look very easy because they’re very, very good at it. People lose perspective of how difficult it is. You ostensibly have the opportunity to see an icon 20 years from now at Wrestlemania where you can say, ‘I remember seeing the day that they walked into the Performance Center and ran drills and threw up in the garbage can.'”

Hogan on being a judge:

“I don’t want to be disappointing, I don’t want to be a bully, but honesty has to be the prevailing factor for the love of the business and picking the new superstar.”

Triple H on the most important quality from a performance standpoint – charisma:

“It’s the hardest thing to teach. It’s that guy who walks in the door and everybody stops and says, ‘Who’s that?’ It’s the girl who walks in and doesn’t have to be the hottest chick, but there’s something about her that you’re just like, ‘Wow, look at her.’ “

Chris Jericho on hosting the show:

“[I’m] kind of omnipotent, the higher power for the show, which is the way I like it. I don’t want to be the Ryan Seacrest,” he says. “You’re all things to all people: You’re the drill sergeant when you have to be, and you’re also the shoulder to cry on and give advice.”
