What The Future Holds For TNA Impact Wrestling Survival & The Role Of Jeff Jarrett

Justin LaBar and Josh Isenberg kick off the weekend discussing the state of TNA Impact Wrestling, the speculation behind the scenes and more.

Plus, LaBar’s Friday column for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review focuses on Jeff Jarrett and how he’s the definition of a survivor in the world of professional wrestling. The following is a sample:

Relevance and longevity are king in professional wrestling. Perhaps it’s not a coincidence Jeff Jarrett can be proclaimed King of the Mountain via the match of that title he created.

Jarrett isn’t The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin or Hulk Hogan. He isn’t a household name. You don’t say Jeff Jarrett on the street and get people to know he’s a wrestler like the other mentioned megastar names. In all fairness, almost nobody else can be compared to Rock, Austin or Hogan status.

But Jarrett is still continuing to show he’s on a decorated level or status for the long term.

There was controversy with Chyna in an Intercontinental Championship feud in the 1990s. Brash statements of his place in the business after jumping to WWE. Co-founding NWA-TNA with his father in 2002. A controversial departure from his baby, TNA, several years ago. The founder and headline maker of a new professional wrestling company in Global Force Wrestling, set out to bridge the continental gaps and use the best the world has to offer in professional wrestling.

This is a brief mentioning of some career moments that don’t do justice to his full career.

Reality being, Jeff Jarrett might be the greatest when it comes to living the life of a professional wrestler within its arena, rules and thriving as an independent contractor and businessman.

The guy who has been noted to “breaking a thousand guitars but never drawing a dime” has exceeded those commentaries. It’s a catchy phrase, but if you believe that sums him up, you’re not paying attention.
