Eliminated Tough Enough Contestant Alex Frekey Talks Entering TE, Not Being Allowed in the Ring, Hating Diana, Does He Regret “Knowledge” Remark?

WWE Tough EnoughEliminated WWE Tough Enough contestant Alex Frekey was the guest on Afterbuzz TV last night, and below are some highlights and the full interview:

On being eliminated from Tough Enough:

It sunk it once I hit the hotel room. But now I’m doing better. Of course I was bummed out first off..but back to reality you have to move on move forward.

On his cardio for Tough Enough:

I’m a bodybuilder, so I don’t do a lot of cardio. But in terms of the training, about 3 weeks before I knew I was going to be on the show…I talked to my trainer, and he put together a calisthenic, cardio, metabolic training type of thing, and I did it for about 3 weeks. But it wasn’t good enough, some of the stuff we did at [Tough Enough] mini camp it was worse then college basketball practice. It was insane.

On why he wanted to be in Tough Enough:

A few years back when I got out of college, I’m not sure the gentleman’s name, but he asked me to enter a wrestling school because he said I had a good look for wrestling. I was always a fan of the WWE, and at the time I got out of college I couldn’t because I had to get a job to payback student loans…but I saw that the Tough Enough was coming about and I said ‘I can do this now’ so I gave it a shot.

When the cameras weren’t rolling we were either filming the other parts of the segments of the show or in the gym in the Performance Center lifting. Not in the ring, we were not allowed to touch the ring without Billy Gunn to supervise. Literally, when Jericho said it’s a church, it’s literally a church. You’re not allowed in there.

On people “despising” Diana:

If you’re going to portray yourself as a princess, or wanting to go plan your wedding when you’re supposed to be here for the WWE, nobody is gonna like you.

Does he regret his “knowledge means nothing” remark?:

Yes and no. Now, that conversation I had with Patrick was pieced up, it was not the full conversation. So it made me look out to be like I hate the WWE, which was not what I wanted. Patrick was going on saying ‘Hey man I’m up in here trying to have a wrestling conversation with these people and no one knows anything’, and I said to Patrick I’m not here to lean the history of wrestling, I’m here to learn how to wrestle physically.
