Two of the top independent wrestlers right now, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa, made an appearance at tonight’s NXT tapings in Winter Park, Florida.
Ciampa and Gargano worked a tag team match against Bull Dempsey and Tyler Breeze, and picked up the win. Several fans have been posting photos of their match (as seen below); reports have the match airing during a September episode of WWE NXT on WWE Network.
Gargano appeared during the set of WWE NXT tapings in June; he lost a dark match to new NXT recruit (formerly “Uhaa Nation”). What is interesting is Ciampa appeared for TNA at their last set of television tapings, working a match and beating Crazzy Steve on a match taped for the Xplosion international television show.
While Ciampa has appeared at a WWE tryout camp, and indicated he is still a free-agent, Evolve Wrestling stated Gargano was still under contract with them (at least through this weekend’s events), as the statement was issued during the last set of NXT tapings.
