Report: WWE Files Multi-Million Dollar Lawsuit Against Overseas Television Partner

wweAccording to The Wrestling Observer, World Wrestling Entertainment has filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against CTH.

CTH is WWE’s TV partner in Malaysia and Thailand, and the report notes the network has stopped paying its rights fees to WWE, subsequently prompting the lawsuit.

WWE originally signed a five-year deal with CTH which would see the network run Raw, Smackdown, NXT, Superstars, Main Event, Bottom Line, Afterburn, Vintage Collection and This Week In WWE and PPV events from 2014-2018.

The deal would also see WWE’s annual rights fees increase from $2.8 million in 2014, to $3.64 million in 2015, then $4.55 million, then $5.69 million and finally $6.83 million for a total of $23.5 million over the course of the four year deal.
