Success Of New Day

Shane Shoemaker has a new blog on on CSRWrestling.com talking about New Day makes us believe. Here’s a sample:

With their first appearance together it looked like the usual, We have these three guys that we have no idea what to do with let’s put them together and see if it works. I can’t imagine being on a creative staff with a huge roster of talent and trying to figure out what to do with all of them. Sometimes they’re basically treated like toys in a toy box. There will always be those favorites that they always play with, the ones they hardly ever play with that are scrapping the bottom of the box; and then, ever so often, there’s the new ones they get to play with, leaving less and less playtime for the other toys. Somehow, in all those toys they have to play with, maybe hanging onto some of the other ones when they were getting pulled from the box, they made their way out for significant playtime and have now become some of the favorite toys.

Outside of John Cena, there may not be a more all around  entertaining act than the New Day. Some will argue that Seth Rollins should be put on that list, and while I think he has room for argument, he’s still learning and evolving as a character. Rollins is a lot like Shawn Michaels was when he first became champion. His in-ring abilities are nearly unmatched, but like Michaels, he didn’t really become an interesting character until mid-1997, and then later on when he came back in 2002. His first WWE title run was in 1996 not a financially successful time in the company and he lived off his wrestling abilities.
