Noelle Foley & Frank “The Clown” Coming To Chair Shot Reality, Former WWE Ref Says Bring Back Brand Extension

It was announced this week Noelle Foley, daughter of Mick Foley and Frank “The Clown” will be in-studio for the 300th episode of Chair Shot Reality Survivor Series weekend. 

In addition to growing up as the daughter of a hardcore legend being featured in projects over the years such as Beyond The Mat when very young, Noelle has gone on to become a popular voice in the IWC community and the apple of many wrestling fans’ eye. Frank “The Clown” is the famous super fan of super fans, recognized by John Cena and other WWE Superstars on WWE programming, Frank will certainly bring a new level of excitement to the milestone episode.

Brand Extension

Jimmy Korderas, former WWE referee for over 20 years, wrote a new blog on CSRWrestling.com where he says WWE should go back to the future and bring back the brand extension. Here’s a sample:

Over the last several decades, World Wrestling Entertainment has gone through many stages that fans either fondly remember, wishing that their favorite era would return or are glad some of those days have gone away. I have had the pleasure being there during many of them both good and not so good. There was however, one particular time in WWE history that I believe made good business sense and still can today.

Good ol’ JR recently commented that he would like to see a return of The Brand Extension. I could not agree with him more. In fact, for a long time now I have been saying as much on the TV show Aftermath, which airs here in Canada on Sportsnet360. I would love to see the Brand Extension make a comeback and be implemented in the WWE once again.

Superstars would be brand exclusive and only appear on their respective shows. This would eliminate overexposure of a superstar and give opportunity to others who don’t normally have it. This would also help to eliminate repetitive matches and create fresher matchups and rivalries. There are so many good young talents on the main roster but if they are not regularly seen on television and have their characters evolve, fans will not develop a connection with them. If they only appear on WWE Network shows Superstars or Main Event, they do not get seen by the vast majority of the audience. Speaking of those two shows, they too can also be brand exclusive. RAW talent could appear on Superstars while Main Event would feature the Smackdown roster. Kind of like Sunday Night Heat and Velocity were back in the day.

I believe that reinstating the brand extension would also benefit the secondary titles. Take the United States championship and make it RAW’s main title with the Intercontinental championship Smackdown’s property. This is the best way to build importance for each title as every superstar’s goal would be the title represented by their respective brand. Although John Cena has done an incredible job of making the US title relevant again, it can only be deemed a lasting success if it maintains that importance with the next US champ. Kevin Owens is making strides with the IC title but still has a ways to go before that championship regains its luster. A brand extension would in my opinion benefit both titles.

As for the other titles, the Divas title can be more prominent on RAW making it a focal point and giving the divas some much needed airtime. RAW is a three hour show and with more talented Divas poised to get called up, they can fill that time. The tag titles could move to Smackdown where the tag team division could grow and flourish. You can build the brand around the IC title and the Tag team division.
