Big Show Talks Almost Leaving Pro Wrestling to Pursue a Boxing Career, Reveals the Incident Which Scared Him Off Boxing and More

WWE star Big Show was recently interviewed by SB Nation, and during the interview Show revealed he almost left pro wrestling back in 2007 to pursue a career in boxing.

Show went on to reveal, however, that he was sparring one day with TJ Wilson, and he got hit so hard he blacked out and actually suffered memory loss. The incident scared him off a boxing career, so he decided to stick with pro wrestling and WWE.

“I remember trapping [Wilson] in the comer, him getting out of the corner, and then I remember waking up in my Hummer with the keys in the ignition,” said Big Show. “Apparently, they had taken my gloves off, called the match, and I had taken my bag and walked out of the gym and was sitting in my car with the car running when I woke up… It scared the s–t out of me.”

Despite never actually foraying into the boxing scene, Big Show did work a feud in 2008 with Floyd Mayweather, Jr, which culminated in a match between the two at WrestleMania. Big Show legitimately had his nose broken by Mayweather during an unscripted TV segment in which Show previously told Mayweather to deliver an actual punch.
