The first segment of this episode of Chair Shot Reality is all things about the Shane McMahon return to WWE. Here’s some highlights of the conversation:

Brian Gulish:

It was inevitable. At some point at the right time Shane McMahon was set to come back. Just because he was the CEO of You On Demand dealing with China. Shane was going to come back at the right time. Everything he said in that ring—ratings, stock, injuries—a work shoot. That’s what some of us think, ratings are down and that’s because of The Authority vision. They are giving you everything you said. They are listening to you, they are feeding and playing off you.

Josh Isenberg:

I was shocked they booked him in a match against The Undertaker. Shane being booked in a Hell in a Cell vs The Undertaker. You put it like this, Shane McMahon was a boost of adrenaline, something different that they desperately needed. I think it’s great he came back but I’m going to see where it goes and hold my reservations.

Justin LaBar:

I don’t believe in the term “worked shoot.” It’s either a work or a shoot. It was all a work, part of the story but what it is, is art imitating life. Them touching on what critics will say about ratings and it’s great thing to say that Shane is coming back to protect for future generations. The fact a 46 year old Shane McMahon is coming back to fight The Undertaker in Hell in a Cell, it does sound desperate but I don’t look at it that way. He’s in better shape than most realize. Go back and look at his highlights. Hell in a Cell is perfect for what he does. He’s just like his old man except more athletic. Punches, kicks, take a whole lot of abuse and then jump off something high. A lot of speculation maybe he’s a place holder for John Cena which doesn’t make any sense. They wouldn’t have advertised it to the extent they already have an then take him away and replace with John Cena, some people will be disappointed. And, do you really want a John Cena to come back five months earlier already that they will put his body in a Hell in a Cell?
