MMA legend Renzo Gracie, who has been working with Shane McMahon while training for Wrestlemania 32, recently spoke with Sirius XM about the match and the training involved. Gracie commented on Shane’s training regimen, and says he’s been training with them a long time, and talks about what kind of shape he’s in heading into this weekend (transcriptions courtesy of Damon Martin / FOX Sports)

“In reality, Shane trains with us for over eight years. He’s been training with us for a long time and then he moved out for a few years, on this period he had to leave for a few years, and then he came back. He’s in the best shape of his life.

I couldn’t believe the shape that he’s in. He’s been training a lot of Muay Thai with Phil Nurse, who is the coach for Georges St-Pierre and a lot of other good guys, and he’s in really good shape for this match, for this show that they are putting up in the Dallas arena.”

Gracie explained that Shane has been concentrating in jiu-jitsu training, and says despite what people may think, the skill will actually help him in his match against Undertaker at Wrestlemania 32:

“Definitely, I see it for sure because he’s moving well and transitions well into positions. So when he grapples, when he wrestles his partner The Undertaker, for sure he will do well.”
