NY Post Speculates on a Possible WWE Buyout, John Cena Return Update and Lilian Garcia Reportedly Gets into an Argument on WWE Raw

WWE Buy Out Interest?

Welcome to the 3/6 edition of WrestleTalk News. Our top story today is a potential buy out of the WWE.

The New York Post is reporting that there’s a “strong rumour” that media mogul John de Mol – which I believe translates into John The Mole – wants to buy the WWE outright if Vince McMahon ever decided to sell. He’s one of the guys behind a bunch of hit TV shows like Fear Factor, Big Brother and The Voice.

So what? You say. What makes The Mole different from any other crazy billionaire wanting a new vanity purchase? The fact that The Mole’s company, Talpa Beheer, already acquired a 6% stake in the WWE last August.

OctaFinance reported back then that Talpa Beheer filed Form 13G when acquiring the stake, which is used when 5 to 20% of the company is held as a passive investor. That means Talpa Beheer’s stake can increase up to 20% without entering hostile takeover territory. I have no idea what I just wrote.

Talpa Beheer declined to comment on the story when asked by the New York Post, but a spokesperson for WWE said that there are currently no discussions about a potential sale happening.

John Cena Return Update

John Cena returned to the WWE at this past weekend’s Wrestlemania 32 show to help The Rock dig a Wyatt Family-sized hole in the middle of the arena.

Leading up to the event, Cena said he was ready to return to the ring immediately and was just waiting for the call from WWE. But then why wasn’t he on Raw the following night?

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer claims that Cena may not actually be cleared to perform after all, which is supported by the previously reported full-time return date in July.

It may have been the case that Cena was healthy enough for the short run in against the Wyatt Family at Wrestlemania, but he’ll have to wait a bit longer for a full time in ring return.

Lilian Garcia Gets Into Argument on Raw

Many people noticed that on this past Monday’s episode of Raw, there seemed to be some confusion during Zack Ryder’s entrance. And not because people were still baffled he won the night before.

As he was walking to the ring, ring announcer Lilian Garcia announced that his match against The Miz would be for the Intercontinental Championship. Part way through her saying this, her microphone was cut out and now our good friends at Wrestlezone are reporting that a production worker can be seen banging on the ring apron trying to get her to stop. Putting the Intercontinental Title on the line was meant to be an impromptu decision by Ryder when Miz goads him into it.

Garcia’s blunder apparently led to a heated argument between her and the production worker banging on the ring. As far as we know, the issue was worked out and there is no more controversy coming out of it.

Our question for you today is: If WWE were to be bought out, who would you like to see buy it and why?
