Stephanie McMahon Deposed, Jimmy Snuka Declared Not Competent to Stand Trial, The Latest on the Status of WWE NXT Takeover Brooklyn

In today’s WrestleTalk News, an update on the Jimmy Snuka murder trial, worry over NXT’s future and Stephanie McMahon deposed in concussion lawsuit.

Jimmy Snuka Declared Not Competent to Stand Trial

First, we have an update on the trial of Jimmy Snuka for the 1983 death of his then-girlfriend Nancy Argentino.

Snuka was originally arrested back in September and was charged with third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter. In November he pled not guilty to the charges.

Snuka’s lawyers have been trying to argue since that his mental state has deteriorated so much due to damage caused by repeated blows to the head throughout his wrestling career, that he was no longer mentally competent to stand trial.

Well, as of a hearing yesterday, a judge has agreed with that assessment and Snuka has officially been deemed unfit to stand trial for murder.

This isn’t the end, however, as Snuka will be re-evaluated in six months time and could stand trial then if his mental state improves. According to Snuka’s defense, however, that’s not likely to happen.

NXT No More?

There was a lot of worry earlier this week that the re-naming of next week’s NXT Takeover show to ‘The End’ could signify a drastic change in the future of NXT, especially following WWE’s announcement that they’re bringing back the brand split.

These fears were amplified when the listing for ‘NXT Takeover: Brooklyn’ was removed from the Ticketmaster website, leaving many wondering whether we could be seeing the end of Takeover specials for the brand.

Not to worry though, the event has now been re-added to the website with new logos and event information. So everybody was freaking out over nothing.

Inspiration in his life has come from many people including his family, Woody Allen, Steven Spielberg, Jack Nicholson, The Beatles, and of course, Lassie.
