Concerns With The NXT Roster Being Harmed By The Brand Extension

nxt-championship-socialThis first of four videos for Chair Shot Reality this weekend looks at the concerns with the NXT roster and the surge of talent that could go to RAW or SmackDown via the brand extension.

Justin LaBar and Josh Isenberg filmed at The Pub at Tonidale in Oakdale, PA. Here’s some highlights of the conversation:

Josh Isenberg:

My problem is I feel the past couple of months a lot of big names have lost steam. Maybe it’s because Finn Balor dropped the title to Samoa Joe and not many people saw it. Steam is being lost with Balor because him being called up is long overdue. There’s other guys in NXT who deserve an opportunity to be on that main level or are so good they deserve to at least be doing more than “jobbing.”  guy like Tye Dillinger who might have the best gimmick in NXT right now. People are behind him wherever he goes—Brooklyn, Dallas or Full Sail. I’m not concerned because I think Triple H knows there is so much talent still out there not in NXT that he hasn’t tapped. But these guys they aren’t booking properly, they need to really see who and what the fans are connecting with and they aren’t doing that with a few big pieces.

Justin LaBar:

I’m not worried about NXT the show that’s on Wednesday night at full Sail. Name of the game is talent. They’ve found a way to find talent and characters. As Triple H has said on media calls, there are a lot of guys and girls at Performance Center wanting opportunity. That said, what I am worried about is the largest surge ever of a new crop of talent going to RAW and SmackDown that so many new talents at once. We’ve seen how critical it is with Apollo Crews, Tyler Breeze, Adam Rose, now those are ones that have gone bad and there are others that have gone good. But when you have too many guys come in at once it’s hard to tell the audience that all of these new guys matter. You need to stagger the debuts but with a draft it might be fought to do.
