Ring Of Honor Announces ACH’s Debut In Japan

ROH has released the following in regards to ACH’s debut in Japan:

Few stars in Ring of Honor have captivated fans with an arsenal of high-flying, death-defying moves like ACH! 2016 has already been a huge year for the Ring of Honor star, testing himself in high profile matches against Adam Cole, KUSHIDA, and Kenny Omega while picking up huge victories against Alex Shelley, international star KAMAITACHI, and tag wins over former ROH World Tag Team Champions the Young Bucks and All Night Express!

His year is about to get even bigger.

Following his huge grudge match at Best in the World LIVE on pay-per-view on Friday June 24 against “Pro Wrestling’s Last Real Man” Silas Young, ACH will head to the Land of the Rising Sun and make his Japanese debut in Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Jr. Heavyweight Tag League Tournament with partner Taiji Ishimori!
Ishimori should be a name very familiar to ROH fans. In 2008, Ishimori made his ROH debut in an instant classic, defeating El Generico in Japan. Ishimori is the longest-reigning GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion in history and successfully defended that championship against “Mr. ROH” Roderick Strong in a ROH ring in 2013!

Ishimori comes with a pedigree of high-profile tag team wins, as well. As a New Japan Young Lion, Ishimori teamed with Hiroshi Tanahashi and defeated Ryusuke Taguchi and Shinsuke Nakamura in a U-30 tournament. Ishimori has also found much international success teaming with former ROH World Champion Takeshi Morishima. And Ishimori is no stranger to this tournament having won the inaugural Cup in 2007 with KENTA, repeating the feat in 2008, and winning a third in 2012 with Atsushi Kotege.

For ACH, his first trip to Japan presents an amazing opportunity to team with one of his international contemporaries among the world’s best Junior Heavyweights as he and Ishimori head into the tournament among the odds-on favorites to win! Both men are masters of the 450 Splash and use their variations to finish off opponents. The only question may be which man will use their version to ultimately secure victory and the NOAH Jr. Heavyweight Tag League Cup!

The 10th annual tournament runs from July 15 through July 25 and features 12 of the world’s best junior heavyweights in six teams. While past tournaments have featured ROH stars like the Briscoes, Bryan Danielson, Bobby Fish, and Delirious, ACH’s participation marks the first time a ROH star will be in the tournament since Roderick Strong teamed with Slex in 2013. Stay tuned to ROHWrestling.com for more details as we root for ACH in his Japanese debut!
