WWE vs TNA Tuesday Night Wars Update, Brock Lesnar’s UFC 200 Victory Round-Up

In today’s WrestleTalk News, the latest development in the WWE vs TNA Tuesday Night Wars, and a round-up of news and reactions coming out of Brock Lesnar’s big UFC 200 win over Mark Hunt.

Brock Lesnar’s UFC 200 Victory Round-Up

We’ll cover the latest development in the WWE vs TNA Tuesday Night Wars very shortly, but first, our boy did us proud. Professional wrestler and all-round terrifying human being Brock Lesnar defeated Mark Hunt at UFC 200 over the weekend.

Brock won by unanimous decision after a four and a half year absence from the octagon, further supporting claims that he’s actually a demigod thrown out of Valhalla for being too rowdy. Vince McMahon agreed, with his statement to ESPN after the match:

“Brock is the most formidable combat athlete in the history of the country.”

While Triple H chimed in with:

“To come back after all the time and put on that kind of performance speaks to the once in a lifetime type of athlete that Brock is.”

Yahoo Sports are reporting that Lesnar received $2.5 million for the night’s work – which is the biggest guaranteed pay for any UFC fighter in history. The previous record was half that amount, with Conor McGregor’s guaranteed $1 million purse for UFC 196 back in March.

Purse. I’ve always found that a weirdly non-macho term for MMA and boxing. They might as well call it a handbag.

Speaking after the fight, Dana White said that whether Lesnar will fight in the UFC again will depend on what the Beast can work out with Vince McMahon – as he’s still under contract with WWE – but that:

“You could tell that Brock really likes fighting.”

Never has a sentence made me so excited and scared in equal measure. But if Vince and Brock do reach an agreement, who will Lesnar end up fighting? The Beast’s post-match interview gave us a clue:

“From one white boy to all nationalities, we got to stand together, people!”

That’s right, UFC 205 will be The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar taking on Social Unrest.
