Check out the video above from tonight’s NXT Louisville live event, featuring a “Curtain Call” of sorts between top NXT stars Finn Balor, Bayley, Shinsuke Nakamura and American Alpha. All five throw up the “too sweet” hand gesture in the middle of the ring, before doing Nakamura’s signature pose using all four sides of the ring… and a referee.
It is expected that many of the top NXT stars will be called up to the main roster this coming week with the brand split and Smackdown Live draft fast approaching. All five of of these talents are on a short-list of rumored names, although it’s likely Nakamura will remain with the developmental brand a while longer as he is set to face Samoa Joe at NXT Takeover: Back to Brooklyn next month. Depending on who gets drafted, and to where, this could be the last tour this collection of talents are together on the same show.
Back in 1996 members of The Kliq broke character at Madison Square Garden and held a “Curtain Call” in the ring to say goodbye to Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, who were leaving for WCW. Somewhat ironically, the WWE main roster tour did a show at MSG tonight as this was happening.
