As seen in the closing moments of WWE RAW, Stephanie McMahon awarded Seth Rollins the WWE Championship after he ‘defeated’ Dean Ambrose for the title.
Rollins and Ambrose fought back and forth throughout the match, with the end of the match seeing Rollins attempt a second Pedigree, only to have Ambrose reverse for a near fall before heading up top. Rollins cuts him off and Ambrose shoves him, but the referee inadvertently gets knocked down. Rollins goes back up and superplexes Ambrose, but Ambrose hooks his leg after Rollins tries to float over, and the ref counts to three as both men’s shoulder’s were down.
They tried to sort out the confusion, but Stephanie entered the ring and celebrated with Rollins and announced him the winner, and Rollins left with the title as Shane tried to reason with her.
