The Miz Explains Why He Should Be Drafted Before Dean Ambrose, Talks Finn Balor Possibly Being Drafted Tonight and More

WWE IC Champion The Miz recently spoke with FOX Sports to promote tonight’s Smackdown Live and the WWE Draft, and below are some interview highlights:

If you had to make a pitch to the Raw or SmackDown GM, what separates you from WWE champion Dean Ambrose?

“Dean Ambrose has done one WWE Studios film, I’ve done five. Dean Ambrose has never main-evented WrestleMania. I’ve main-evented WrestleMania. Former WWE champion… I’m a 14-time champion! How many championships do you need to be the No. 1 draft pick? I’ve done more, I’ve been more, I’m more experienced, I’m more seasoned than Dean Ambrose.

“Dean Ambrose is a fantastic superstar… however, has he been in WWE as long as The Miz? Can he do the things that I can do? No, he can’t.”

WWE announced that six NXT stars will also be drafted Tuesday, are there any wrestlers on the NXT roster who stand out to you as being ready to make the jump?

“Oh man. The talk of the town has been Finn Balor. Finn Balor has been killing it down there in NXT, and the fans love him. He looks like one of those guys who could be ready to be up here in WWE, but who knows what’s going to happen?”

Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.

Nick attended New York University and graduated in 2001 with a degree in Drama.

Nick first entered the internet wrestling community back in 2004 when he became the co-host of The Voice of Wrestling Radio Show. From there, Nick made the transition from radio personality to editor when he began working with WrestleZone in 2008.

Nick is a member of two Off-Broadway theatre companies, Another Urban Riff, and the Drama Desk Award winning Godlight Theatre Company. Nick has appeared in over a dozen Off-Broadway plays since he moved to New York City, and has shot several short and feature length films. In 2010, he completed principle photography on a film titled "How to Score Your Life," which also features TNA Knockout ODB.

Inspiration in his life has come from many people including his family, Woody Allen, Steven Spielberg, Jack Nicholson, The Beatles, and of course, Lassie.
