WATCH: 5 Best WWE Draft Moments

Yesterday I counted down my five worst WWE Draft moments. But it wasn’t all gloom, doom and Cesaro to Raw.

Although there were no surprise returns, the focus was still very much on the authority figures and there’s still nobody on the main roster called Shinsuke Nakamura – there were high spots.

Five, by my count…

5. THE MAN RAW REMEMBERED

Way down in the 6th round, as Raw’s 16th draft pick, Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley chose The Man That Gravity Forgot Until His Ankle Injury A Few Months Ago – Neville.

Why is this so important? Neville has found himself stuck in the lower mid-card since being called up from NXT. Despite being a phenomenal high-flyer, WWE couldn’t work out the best way to use him.

Well now…they have a cruiserweight division.

The prospect of Neville sharing the ring with opponents who can match his incredible aerial abilities is enough to flip out with excitement. Pun intended. Flip. Because he does a lot of flips.

4. SHOWSTEALER: REBIRTH

Remember when Dolph Ziggler was good? Don’t get me wrong, he’s still good, but it’s impossible to really care about the guy anymore. He’s been mishandled so many times with false starts and failed pushes that he’s in danger of becoming a mid-card lifer. Especially after his 7 year feud with Baron Corbin.

But we all know Ziggler deserves better. The Brand Split shouldn’t just be used to rebootSmackdown, it should be used to relaunch Dolph as one of its top stars. Ziggler has a great look, can wrestler like a man possessed and can talk. Just give him a live mic and five minutes of promo time on Smackdown, and Dolph could become a top star overnight. Again.

3. COMMENTARY

In what might end up becoming one of the most underplayed hot tags in the history of WWE, after flailing on commentary for the best part of a decade, Jerry Lawler swapped out for Corey Graves in the announce booths.

Raw will have Graves alongside Michael Cole and Byron Saxton, while JBL has moved to take The King’s place alongside Mauro Ranallo and David Otunga on Smackdown.

Graves’ commentary is one of the best elements of NXT, and if he isn’t overproduced by Vince McMahon, Raw won’t make you want to tear out your ears any more.
