Report: Former WWE General Manager Claims MVP & Shelton Benjamin Headed Back to the Company

Long-time WWE personality Teddy Long made an appearance on the Gerwick Report podcast to discuss the recent WWE brand split and draft on Smackdown Live. During the show Teddy dropped some big news, and it wasn’t a tag team match…

According to the former Smackdown general manager, former WWE Superstar MVP is set to make his return to the company. Teddy noted that he recently spoke with MVP, and the two-time U.S. Champion had signed a deal with the company and was being checked out by doctors in order to be cleared for a return to the ring. Teddy also claims that during his discussion with MVP, he was told that Shelton Benjamin would also be making his way back to the WWE.

MVP, 42, left WWE in 2010 and has had runs in New Japan Pro Wrestling and, more recently, on TNA Impact Wrestling. Shelton, 41, worked in Ring of Honor winning the tag titles twice alongside Charlie Haas before signing with New Japan and eventually making his way to NOAH.

It’s worth noting that there is at least one report every single year about either MVP or Benjamin (or both) returning to WWE – although rarely are the reports coming from an insider like Teddy – and we have reached out to both for comment.
