Sasha Banks defeated Charlotte to win the WWE Women’s Championship tonight on WWE RAW.
Banks made Charlotte tap to the Banks Statement to win the title; she spoke with Byron Saxton immediately following her title win, and Sasha yelled ‘I did it!” as the fans chanted ‘you deserve it’ at her. Sasha talks about how this has been her goal since she was a kid and she told them she was the best, and this is the new era of women’s wrestling. Sasha promises to prove herself to them every week, and she’s the only boss in WWE, then raises the title over her head to close the segment.
This is Banks’ first WWE Women’s Championship reign; she ends Charlotte’s run at 113 days with the current incarnation of the title, and 309 days as Divas / Women’s Champion.
