Finn Balor Talks Leaving NXT and Debuting on Raw, Being Labeled the “Poster Boy” of NXT, Reacts to Bryan & Shane Criticizing Universal Title

Myles Galloway recently spoke with Finn Balor to promote WWE SummerSlam, and you can watch the entire interview below. The following are some highlights:

On the long wait for his WWE main roster callup:

It was a long wait. A lot of people said it might have been too long but for me it happened exactly the way it was supposed to happen, and without question worth the wait. If it had happened any sooner maybe I wouldn’t have been as prepared or as self assured or self confident with my own ability. I got drafted earlier, made an impact on Raw and on Sunday I’m fighting Seth Rollins for the Universal Title.

On leaving NXT:

It was bittersweet. The longer I have been in NXT the more I became attached to it. To know that part of my career or my life was ending was a little bit sad. I got a lot friends there, still, but onwards and upwards.

On people saying NXT would not be where it is now without Finn Balor:

I know it’s very humbling for people to say that, but I think what we did at NXT was a huge team effort.

On Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon criticizing the Universal Title:

This is the first time I’ve heard about this is form you. If people want to criticize they can criticize. There’s always gonna be haters, but I’m gonna still do my thing. Can’t keep all the people happy all the time.
