On whether he thinks WWE is happy about the recently announced working relationship between CMLL, ROH & NJPW:

EB: I would think it would make it interesting for them because they are going to see more talent. It’s a great opportunity for everyone involved because they are going to get exposure. The talent is going to be able to expose their skill sets to what is likely to be an entirely different audience than perhaps what they are used to. There is nothing about that that is anything but great. From a WWE perspective, I doubt they are threatened by much at this point. Certainly a combination of three more or less independent wrestling organizations; even tho they are successful. All that means is that the WWE is going to have probably a better opportunity to create better talent.

This week’s “The Business of Professional Wrestling” segment features Eric discussing:

  • What Eric’s philosophy towards developing a developmental system was in WCW
  • Criticism that WCW didn’t create new stars
  • Whether or not he has ever been approached for a coaching position in the WWE Performance Center
  • The burgeoning relationship between WWE and the independents
  • CMLL, ROH & NJPW announcing a working relationship
  • The rise of the international territory system
  • More…

Eric also gives his thoughts and predictions for a few SummerSlam matches including:

  • Dean Ambrose defending the WWE Championship against Dolph Ziggler
  • Seth Rollins battling Finn Balor to become the first Universal Championship
  • Brock Lesnar vs Finn Balor
  • John Cena vs AJ Styles

He then airs the first half of his interview with WWE Hall of Famer Alundra Blayze (aka Madusa). During the interview they discuss:

  • Her relationship with her husband who is an active military member
  • How she got in to the pro wrestling business
  • Her first memories of meeting Eric early in their careers
  • Her current career as a monster truck driver for Monster Jam
  • More…
