Hall of Famer Ringside for NXT Takeover

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has been spotted sitting ringside for tonight’s NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II live special. The “Nature Boy” took his seat during the opening match between Austin Aries and No Way Jose, which would explain the seemingly random, albeit brief “wooo!” eruption from the live crowd that came across the WWE Network during the bout.

Hideo Itami Returns, Knocks Out AA w/ GTS

Hideo Itami, who made his long-awaited return from injury at an NXT television taping earlier this month, also made an unexpected appearance at tonight’s NXT Takeover special. Itami hit the ring and attacked Austin Aries after his opening match with No Way Jose, planting “A-Double” with the GTS to a massive pop from the Brooklyn crowd.

Itami has not competed at an NXT Takeover event since Rival, in February 2015. He has been teasing the GTS – a move he innovated in Japan many years before CM Punk began using it in WWE – as a part of his moveset since his debut.
