Update on Luke Harper’s WWE Return & Which Brand He Might End Up On, Next Week’s WWE Raw Rating Could Hit a New Record Low

Luke Harper Heading to Monday Night Raw?

As previously noted, WWE Superstar Luke Harper has been cleared to return to the ring, according to a report from Pro Wrestling Sheet editor Ryan Satin. Harper has been out of action since March, and was training at the Performance Center prior to WWE Backlash, hoping to be cleared by officials.

The former Intercontinental Champion is now being advertised locally for several up-and-coming Raw brand live events, which could be an indicator of his new home when he returns to television, which could be as early as this weekend’s WWE Clash of Champions pay-per-view. This should effectively end any speculation on the future of the Wyatt Family, with Bray Wyatt and Eric Rowan on the Smackdown brand, and Braun Strowman doing his own thing on Raw.

WWE Raw Could Hit a New Record Low

The September 26 edition of Monday Night Raw could be in some serious trouble, as the WWE flagship program will go head-to-head with, ironically, a man who took on Vince McMahon himself at WrestleMania.

Monday night’s presidential debate between Democratic leader Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee Donald Trump is expected to be the highest viewed political debate in television ratings history. Some analysts are predicting the event to draw in the neighborhood of 100 million viewers, a number that could take down even the NFL ratings juggernaut by a staggering 20%.

WWE does have the benefit of the upcoming Raw being a post-PPV episode, which generally draws higher numbers than usual, but up against a presidential debate that may well rival the Super Bowl, next week’s final rating should be taken with a massive asterisk.
