New Japan Pro Wrestling News

Following this past Sunday’s incredible NJPW King of Pro Wrestling event, which saw Kenny Omega successfully defend his G1 Climax briefcase against runner-up Hirooki Goto, and IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada defend his title against the ace wrestler of NOAH, the main event of January’s annual Tokyo Dome event has been finalized. It will be the Bullet Club leader Kenny Omega taking on The Rainmaker for the most prestigious title in pro wrestling at Wrestle Kingdom 11.

Before we get to Wrestle Kingdom there is one last show coming up on 11/5 featuring three championship matches, which will lay the final groundwork for the biggest show of New Japan’s calendar. At Power Struggle, Los Ingobernables de Japan leader Tetsuya Naito will defend the Intercontinental Championship against former champion Michael Elgin in their return match. Plus, Shibata defends his NEVER Openweight title against EVIL, Bushi defends the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight title against Kushida in a return match, and the Guerrillas of Destiny defend their newly won IWGP Tag Team titles against Tomohiro Ishii and Yoshi-Hashi.

Also on that show, Hiroshi Tanahashi faces “Cold Skull” Sanada in a special challenge match, and the finals of the Super Junior Tag Team Tournament.
