Returning WWE star Bill Goldberg is the guest on the latest edition of The Ross Report podcast which you can listen to entirely at this link. Below are some interview highlights:

On His Current Training:

It’s going good. It’s an uphill battle, but it’s something I enjoy, so another opponent, 12 years removed from the ring, so I have to get ready again, so here we are.

On His Age Not Slowing Him Down from Physical Activity:

There have been spurts, and I was actually thinking about it today, where I would relax, and not concentrate on trying to be hitting the gym everyday, but you know what, it’s just strange to me because it’s not my norm. You know, I have to be involved in some type of physical activity; whether it’s punching or kicking, or lifting heavy weights, playing Racquetball, and I’ll always be this way until I set one foot into the grave.

On Facing an Opponent Like Brock Lesnar After His Long Hiatus:

My dad always instilled in me to work 100% no matter where you are or what you are doing. If you are able to do that and look yourself in the mirror before you go to bed, then you’re a happy guy. At the end of the day it is a fulfillment, so why not bite off a little more than I can chew 12 years removed, against the biggest and baddest guy in the business, so here I am. It’s amazing how he has been able to cross promote. At the end of the day, they parallel each other, the fan base of MMA and Pro Wrestling. At the end of the day they can appreciate each other’s craft and truly believe that there are a high percentage of MMA fighters that would kill to have a professional wrestling career. I’ve said that many times, and some people have said something negative about that, but the fact of a matter is, if you look at the risk/reward, although it depends on your character, it can be a very high risk, but you know, getting stiffed once in awhile is one thing, but getting punched and kicked in the face by the biggest and baddest dudes on the planet for a living, it’s a stretch, so you can’t tell me that they wouldn’t want to have the opportunity to become professional wrestlers.

On Whether or Not He Cares about Being Booed Wrestling Against Brock:

You know what, at the end of the day, I hope everybody has fun, and if I just so happen to get booed, I’m not going to go end my life because of it. At the end of the day it’s people’s perception on the act at that moment and so if I get booed then I will just take it out on Brock, even more so than I am already. I believe that is what we wanted to do to each other the last time that we met, and I think this time the gloves, as we say, are off, so this is going to be a war. I haven’t been in a wrestling ring for 12 years, I have been in a boxing ring, and stuff like that. For taking and giving bumps–I’ve taken and been given bumps, but they are a completely different kind; so, just because I’m not up on my “hitting the rope” skill, doesn’t mean I don’t bring something to the table, and will far exceed as far as violence is concerned. That is what we do man, and just have to reinvent myself every time I go out there.
