Updates On The Planned Cell Finish For Sasha v Charlotte, When Was The Finish Decided?, What Were Producers Told The Night Before?

Updates On The Planned Cell Finish For Sasha v Charlotte

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is noting that the plans for the Hell in a Cell match between Sasha Banks and Charlotte originally called for Sasha winning and retaining the WWE Women’s Championship. This would bring some conclusion to the Sasha and Charlotte feud and allow Charlotte to spin off in to a program with Bayley.

Apparently Vince McMahon was against the idea of the match closing the show but Triple H and several members of creative were able to change his mind the night before. Vince also changed his mind last minute and decided to have Charlotte win the title instead. There was said to be an explanation for why he had the title change hands and it has nothing to do with rumors that Vince thinks Sasha is injury prone. Also, for those wondering, Sasha is not injured as she worked the WWE Live event in Germany last night.

Adding some confusion to the situation top WWE officials were telling producers a different ending to the match on Saturday night. They were apparently not trying to swerve everyone like they did with the Brock Lesnar and Undertaker finish because by Sunday everyone was being told Charlotte would be winning.

Charlotte’s 13-0 winning streak is also something that WWE officials had not planned and is instead something that just happened organically.
