According to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is looking at bringing Japanese talents Io Shirai and Kairi Hojo into the company.

The women are reportedly leaving Japan’s Stardom promotion, but it was said Stardom is said to be attempting to retain Hojo. Both of them leaving would reportedly ‘devastate’ the company because they are two of Stardom’s biggest draws, but they could both possibly stay with Stardom through March or April of next year.

It’s unknown what either woman’s role would be with WWE as the Observer was not clear if they would be full-time or part-time, or what brand they would start with, just that WWE was showing interesting in them both. Sharai will reportedly finish up in Japan after an anniversary show in Japan on March 20th, and Hojo will work a homecoming show in April.

The timing is interesting because the Observer also mentioned on a related note that the reported women’s tournament in WWE would start to tape in January or March.
