Jim Ross Comments on the Strength of ROH Final Battle Card, Reports Of UFC Influencing Goldberg vs Lesnar Match

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross recently updated his blog on his JR’s Bar-B-Q website; you can read a few excerpts below:

Jim Ross comments on the Goldberg/Lesnar match at Survivor Series reportedly being booked as a ‘fight’:

Saw online where, allegedly, WWE gave their broadcasters instructions on how to frame their narrative for the Goldberg-Lesnar bout at Survivor Series and it was reported that it was to call the match as if it were a real fight with MMA flavor. My question would be why wouldn’t that be the goal on every bout that fits that description or comes close.

This is not just for WWE but for every wrestling promotion that is if the goal is still to get one’s audience to buy in and suspend their disbelief while getting lost in the story. That is the objective, right?

Ross comments on the Ring Of Honor Final Battle card:

Excited to watch the ROH PPV this Friday night at 9 pm ET on the FITE TV App.An eExcellent wresting card is booked that I expect to deliver in a big way. These PPV’s are all about what happens bell to bell and as long as ROH continues with that trend I will stay hitched to their wagon. Pumped for several matches especially Cody Rhodes versus Jay Lethal who are two of my favorite in ring talents working today. Kyle O’Reilly vs Adam Cole will cook as well. It’s a well booked card from top to bottom.
