As we noted last night, the 2017 WWE Elimination Chamber PPV will be taking place on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the TSR Arena in Phoenix, AZ. Elimination Chamber will be a Smackdown brand PPV, and it should be noted that as of this writing John Cena is not being advertised for the event by either the arena website or WWE. Elimination Chamber is the final WWE PPV event before WrestleMania 33.
John Cena is currently out filming the second season of “American Grit”, but he is expected to wrap shooting in time to return for WWE’s Live Event at Madison Square Garden on December 26th.
We noted last week, however, that Cena is likely to be taking more time off WWE in 2017 as he landed a principal role in the Kay Cannon directed film, The Pact.
We also noted last night that due to his work outside of WWE becoming much more regular, there seems to be some concern from WWE officials about how much John Cena will be around next year.
