EB: Why did I fire you? (In late 1997 from WCW)

SW: This is the thing. I can only speculate because I wasn’t there when you, Kevin and Scott had whatever it is that happened. I was out recovering from my cervical surgery. The word is that you were mad at Kevin and Scott so you wanted to put them in their place and so you fired me. I also heard, this makes sense too, that there was a little more to it than that and it had more to do with me not signing my agreement and trying to hold out for more money. Is that part of it?

EB: The listeners are probably going, “Wow, that’s a screwy question for Eric to ask Sean.” You and I are both so much past this that it’s more of just an interesting conversation for me more than anything else. First of all, if I would have fired you to send a message to Scott and Kevin that would have been the most chicken sh*t move that I could have ever imagined doing. I just don’t think I’m quite capable of that. If I wanted to do something to them I would have done it to them.

In the full audio clip above Eric goes further in to detail about the events that led to Sean’s WCW release. That portion of the conversation begins at the one hour and four minute mark in the embedded audio player at the top of the page.

  • (@MrMykal87) Were you, or are you still, surprised that you somehow escaped being parodied – in WWE’s Billionaire Ted skits?

  • (@RussellAsks) What was the mat rats promotion you were rumored to have been bankrolling/involved with to some capacity? Very curious
  • (@_killswitch879) I would love to hear how u planned to use Shawn O’Haire if WCW would of stayed open.
  • (@libraryjohn85) Is there a signing you made while in charge of WCW that you would take back if you could?
